The Street Smart Bicyclist

Using Denver's Bikeways

When riding in the street, you must follow all traffic signals and signs, just as if you were in a car. This isn't just a courtesy, it's a legal requirement. Traffic laws exist to bring safety and predictability to the transportation system. By following standards for intersections, roadways and the public right-of-way, everyone knows what to expect.

Bicycles and Transit

Combining bikes with transit makes it even easier to get around! RTD allows bikes on the bus and light rail system and provides facilities at stations to secure bikes. It's a healthy, economical and environmentally friendly way to commute to work, school or recreational activities.
