Denver sales tax hike would pay for more parks under city councilman’s proposal

The idea of a dedicated parks tax — which would raise nearly $46 million a year — is being floated by Jolon Clark, who spent his career as a parks advocate before winning a seat on the City Council in 2015. He was associate director at the nonprofit Greenway Foundation, which works to improve parks and open spaces.

How Bike Lanes Benefit Businesses

Kenmore Boulevard in Akron, Ohio is in the process of a street redesign which may involve the loss of some on-street parking spots in order to create protected bike lanes. This sort of transition is happening all over the country as more and more cities recognize the transformative impact that bike lanes can have on their city, as well as the prosperity that impact can create.

Special Guest: A Collaborative Denver Art Show

Special Guest, a collaborative Denver art show presented by Meow Wolf, will open June 14 at The Next Stage Gallery. This diverse and evolving installation is a special partnership between Denver Arts & Venues, Meow Wolf and CU Denver’s College of Arts & Media. The show is built as a movable talk show stage featuring poetry readings, film screenings and dance performances.
