PRIVATE OUTDOOR FEE-BASED EVENTS

Private Outdoor Fee-Based Activity (POFA)
is defined as a class, clinic, camp, guided activity, program or related service organized and offered by a Permittee for which a payment, fee or other consideration is expected to be made to the Permittee. POFA is by invitation-only or open to the public in general. POFA must be generally recreational in nature or a common and customary park use.



It is the policy of Denver Department Parks and Recreation and its Manager (DPR), under circumstances appropriate for Denver parks, to permit citizens and organizations the use of specified areas within Denver parks for the provision of certain private outdoor fee-based activities and services to the public, subject to this policy.

Permit Process | October 2018 – March 2019

Preliminary Applications for the October 2018 – March 2019 season will be accepted:

August 17 (12:00AM if submitting electronically (park.permits@denvergov.org; 8AM if submitting in person)

through

August 24 (11:59PM if submitting electronically (park.permits@denvergov.org; 4PM if submitting in person)

 

This timeframe is to determine if a lottery is needed for POFA sites within a Park (please see below).

You must pay a $25 application fee for each POFA application you wish to submit (non-refundable). If submitting in person, payment will be due at that time.  If submitting your application electronically, you will be contacted electronically no later than 4PM on August 27 regarding payment (you will make your payment in person or online – instructions will be provided).

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash, and checks made to “Manager of Finance”.

All application fees must be paid by 4PM on August 30.

 

Approval/Lottery

If your application is approved, you will be notified electronically by 4PM on August 31.

If a lottery is required (more applications received than POFA sites available), you will be notified electronically by 4PM on August 27.  The lottery will be held on August 28, at 11AM at the Parks Permit Office, Webb Municipal Building, 201 West Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO, 80202, Room 1.G.1.  You will receive more information on August 27.  You need not be present; attendance is optional. RSVP’s will not be taken.

Confirmations/invoices will be sent electronically for those that were in the lottery by 4PM August 28.

 

Payment/Final Permit

Final payment and insurance for all approved permits requests will be due by 4PM on September 4.

Payment may only be made online or in person.  Insurance certificates may be sent electronically or delivered in person.

Approved permits will be ready and available for printing online no later than 4PM on September 5.

 

Remaining Sites for the October 2018 – March 2019 season:

All remaining POFA sites will be available for permitting beginning at 8AM on September 6.

Applications may be submitted electronically – please follow process above.

Confirmations/invoices will be sent electronically within 3 business days.

Final payment and insurance will be due 3 business days after confirmation/invoice is sent.

Applications for the April 2018 – September 2018 season will be accepted:

February 5 (12am if submitting electronically (park.permits@denvergov.org; 8am if submitting in person)

through

February 17 (11:59pm if submitting electronically (park.permits@denvergov.org; 4pm if submitting in person)

 

You must pay a $25 application fee for each POFA application you wish to submit (non-refundable).
