The City of Denver recently implemented a security enhancement to better protect our online payment processing system.  As a result of this enhancement, we are no longer able to accept payments from non-current browsers. Substance Misuse & Overdose Prevention

Substance misuse and overdose are an increasing community health concern across the city of Denver. The DDPHE Community Health division is the coordinating agency addressing opioid and other substance misuse in Denver. The division utilizes a collective impact model to engage stakeholders across disciplines to achieve a common goal.




If you find needles or syringes on public property, please call 311 and do not handle the needles or syringes yourself.

To dispose of used needles, see locations below:


  1. City kiosk on the River by 14th Ave. and Speer
  2. King Soopers parking lot at Speer and 13th Ave.
  3. Access Point/Colorado AIDS Project: 6260 East Colfax (Please call in advance to ensure staff is available to assist in disposal)
  4. Harm Reduction Action Center (HRAC): 231 East Colfax, Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 303-572-7800

Denver Department of Public Health and Environment is working with the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention to establish a Collective Impact model to address the opioid epidemic in Denver.

June 2017 marked the first meeting of the group in Denver, and the event focused primarily on city agencies. More than 40 agency representatives attended.

The next convening for Denver is scheduled for September 29, 2017 and is not restricted to city agencies. Please email for more information regarding the meeting.

The Colorado Consortium has already assisted other jurisdictions in Colorado to create similar models. They currently exist in:
