How You Can Give

You can make a difference for Denver's homeless and abused animals! Denver Animal Shelter relies on the generosity of community members to help provide the best possible care for the animals that take refuge at our facility. All donations are used to directly help the animals we serve - both at our shelter and in the community:

Giving Options

Monetary donations help shelter staff purchase food and necessities for the shelter animals. If you would like to donate to the shelter, you can do so in person or you can mail in your donation to:

Wish List

Denver Animal Shelter cares for over 12,000 stray, neglected, injured, and abandoned animals each year. Your donations help keep Denver animals happy, healthy, and most of all, adoptable.

  • Enrichment toys that are easy to disinfect:
    • Dog toys: Kongs, Nylabones, etc. Large and durable variety highly needed
    • Cat toys: Eggcercizers, plastic balls, washable fabric stuffed cat toys 
  • Canned wet food (adult or puppy/kitten) 
  • Soft dog or cat treats 
  • Peanut butter 
  • Towels & Blankets (no electric blankets) 
  • Dog slow feeder bowls
  • Dog lick mats
  • Martingale collars and leashes 
  • Newspaper
  • KMR (kitten milk replacement) - powder form 
  • Esbilac (puppy milk replacement) - powder form 
  • Clumping kitty litter
