Processing of Event Facility permit requests for the remainder of 2020 season will resume beginning 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20 (first come, first served). The first available permit date is Thursday, August 13.

Applicants will be contacted within two business days and if accepted, with permit requirements and remaining fees due.

Please note we are only accepting requests for the City Park Pavilion (max capacity is 26 attendees) and the Washington Park Boathouse (max capacity is 16 participants) at this time.

Central Park Pavilion, Chief Hosa Lodge, Fleming Mansion and Montclair Civic Building are closed for events/activities until further notice

New applications are not currently being accepted for any event facility in 2021. Please continue to check this webpage for updates.

Permit holders must agree to and follow the COVID-19 special requirements as a condition of the permit.

State and City Orders can affect the status of park and event facility permits. Affected permit holders will be contacted as soon as possible should that occur.

There are 6 Event Facilities available for rental:

Event Facility Reservation Instructions and Requirements

Applications ARE NOT accepted by email at any time and NO paper application is available to complete. All reservation requests are accepted online or in-person only and must be submitted at least 30 days in advance.

  2. Start your online reservation request in the DPR Online Service Center
  3. Nonrefundable $210 down payment DUE at time of booking
  4. Within 2 business days of submitting a request, you will receive an email regarding the status of your request

Permit Requirements

The following requirements must be met no later than 21 calendar days prior to event:

  1. All fees paid in full
  2. Proof of insurance coverage
  3. Permit holder must complete a walk-through with an Event Facilitator (see instructions in panel below)

When all requirements are met by the deadline (21 calendar days prior to event date) approved permits will be sent via email no later than 14 business days prior to event date.

Schedule a Tour:

Free, guided one (1) hour tours are available for parties who wish to see the interior of an event facility and ask additional questions before submitting a reservation application. Registered tour attendees are invited to bring one guest. View instructions on how to schedule a tour.

Schedule a Walk-through (for permit holders only):
A one (1) hour walk-through with a DPR Event Facilitator is required to obtain your approved Event Facility Permit. The walk-through will cover day-of event logistics. Permit holders are strongly encouraged to bring any vendors, family or friends who will play a role in your event. Permit holders are limited to one walkthrough. View instructions on how to schedule a walk-through.

Visit the DPR Online Service Center

Tour and walk-through schedules are updated on the 25th of each month.
Walk-throughs do NOT need to be scheduled earlier than 60 days prior to your event date.

 
$210 (or 50% of the fee if total fee is less than $210) is due at the time of reservation and is non-refundable. 
 
All fees outside of the deposit will be refunded if cancellation is made 22 days or more prior to the permit start date.
 
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 21 days or less prior to the permit start date.


Recreation Center Rentals


Denver’s 30 Recreation Centers offer a variety of meeting spaces for special events, school trips, athletic activities, and business functions. Facilities include classrooms, kitchens, gymnasiums, fitness rooms, swimming pools, game rooms, and indoor tracks.

With a variety of centers and room sizes, Denver Parks & Recreation (DPR) is capable of hosting small, mid-size, and large events including birthday and graduation parties, family reunions, corporate events, and meetings.

Recreation Center Reservation Instructions and Requirements

Applications will only be accepted for dates within the current quarter. Any applications submitted for dates outside the quarterly booking timeline will automatically be denied.

Recreation Center Rentals follow a quarterly booking timeline:

    Spring Quarter 2020

  • Dates: 3/10/2020 – 5/18/2020
  • Registration Opens: 2/25/2019 at 12pm

    Summer Quarter 2020

  • Dates: 5/9/2020 – 8/10/2020
  • Registration Opens: 5/5/2020 at 12pm

    Fall Quarter 2020

  • Dates: 8/11/2020 – 11/17/2020
  • Registration Opens: 7/28/2020 at 12pm

 Winter Quarter 2020/2021

  • Dates: 11/18/2020 – 3/8/2021
  • Registration Opens: 11/4/2020 at 12pm

Application Steps
  1. Review the Recreation Facility Permitting Policy
  2. Submit your request no later than 2 weeks prior (3 weeks for after-hours rentals) to desired rental date. For rentals with less than 2 weeks' advance notice, contact center directly
  3. Download instructions for online booking (PDF) to ensure the process goes smoothly.
  4. Visit the DPR Online Service Center and start your application.
  5. Rental applications will receive a response within four (4) business days.

Pools and gyms are currently unavailable to reserve online. Please contact the recreation center directly to inquire.

Fees

There is no fee to apply for a Recreation Center rental permit, either online or in person. Fees will be added to the permit application once availability of the requested rental space is confirmed.

Permit Requirements

Once space availability is confirmed, the following requirements must be met no later than 7 calendar days prior to the event to obtain the rental permit:

  • All cancelations must be submitted to the Recreation Center Rental team at RecreationCenterRentals@denvergov.org or 720-865-0548.

  • Cancelations submitted seven (7) or more calendar days before the reservation date – a full refund will be issued
  • Cancelations submitted less than seven (7) calendar days before the reservation date – no refund will be issued.

What equipment is available?
Additional equipment, such as projectors or sound systems are available, upon request.

What is the alcohol and smoking policy?
Alcoholic beverages, smoking, and the use of smoking devices is prohibited on recreation center property.

Can we decorate?
Yes! Decorations must be setup and cleaned up within the requested permit time. Decorations must not cause permanent damage to any standing structure in the facility. Confetti, birdseed, and rice are not permitted on the property. The recreation center does not provide any utensils, plates, cups, serving dishes, tablecloths, etc.

Can we host an event after the building is closed?
Contact the center for specific details. Additional fees will apply.

Is entertainment allowed?
Yes! Music and noise must be kept at a reasonable volume level and is up to the discretion of recreation staff.

What about catering?
You may use any catering service you like. No restrictions. Please note the use of the kitchen is only for “staging” food service (warming and layout of food.) No food preparation of any kind is allowed.

What if I want to have a birthday party in the swimming pool?
Contact the center for specific details. Additional fees will apply.

How far in advance can I book?
All online requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance. Rentals cannot be booked outside of the current booking quarter. Contact the center directly for bookings at least 72 hours in advance.

What if I want to permit an athletic field, picnic area, or special occasion facility?
Athletic fields, picnic areas, and special occasion facilities must be requested through the Denver Parks and Recreation Facility Use Permit Office by emailing park.permits@denvergov.org

Are there discounted rates for non-profit organizations?
Yes! Non-Profit rates are available. Contact the center directly for discount information.
