Working from home is determined at the department/agency level. Some departments/agencies schedule telecommute days, while others reserve working from home to during events such as extreme weather or traffic. Either way, the employee and supervisor must set up remote access prior to working from home. Speak with your supervisor to find out more.

Employees can access Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint and more online, from any device through Office 365.
When working remotely, we recommend you open a virtual private network (VPN) connection. By establishing a VPN connection, you are able to link your home network or that coffee shop you’re sitting at’s public network securely with the city’s private network. By using VPN you are able to access city applications and gain access to all the cybersecurity defenses we have in place.
Log in to denvergov.org/supportnow and search “VPN” for how-to articles, policies, and to request access (only needed if you are using a non-city owned laptop).
Special work schedules are determined at the department/agency level. The appointing authority of a department/agency may establish a special work schedule for specified units, individual employees, or the entire agency. A special work schedule is any schedule that deviates from the standard work week of an eight hour work-day. Ten hour schedules and nine/eighty schedules are described in Career Service Rule 9: Pay Administration. Employees should contact their supervisor to learn more.
