The Cherry Creek Recycling Drop-off provides a convenient and NO-COST way for Denver residents to keep extra recyclables out of the landfill and to compost yard debris, food scraps, and non-recyclable paper.

The Drop-off is open to Denver residents only. No commercial or landscaping company material will be accepted at this site.

The recycling Drop-off is located near the intersection of S. Quebec St. and E. Cherry Creek South Drive. Enter going south on Cherry Creek Dr. South (follow the signs).


Accepted for Drop-off


  • Rigid plastic containers marked ♳ through ♹ (#1 through #7)
  • Office paper & junk mail
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Newspaper, magazines, catalogs
  • Phone books
  • Steel cans & empty aerosol cans
  • Aluminum cans, foil, pie plates
  • Food & beverage cartons
  • Hot and cold paper cups (no lids or straws)
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Paper bags
  • Paperboard


Unbag/empty items below directly into green carts (No plastic bags. Brown paper bags okay.)

  • Food scraps
  • Non-recyclable paper
  • Leaves
  • Grass clippings
  • Branches & brush (branches must not exceed 4 feet in length or 4 inches in diameter. Maximum of 10 bundles per week per resident).
Not Accepted for Drop-off
  • No Trash
  • No Plastic bags
  • No Styrofoam® food packaging or packing peanuts
  • No Plastic toys
  • No Plastic shrink wrap or bubble wrap
  • No Ceramics, such as coffee mugs or flower pots
  • No Drinking glasses, glassware or window glass
  • No Garden hoses or sprinklers
  • No Cassettes, DVDs, CDs or plastic cases
  • No Scrap metal, construction material or fencing
  • No Sod, dirt or rocks
  • No Furniture or mattresses
  • No Paint or Household Hazardous Waste
  • No Electronics or appliances
